Folk-style has been a big interiors trend this year. I’ve started to warm to the style much more. I think I’ve come up with four rules that get you the look.
- Keep backdrops such as walls and windows simple
- Mix and match patterns, this is a big deal for the folk look
- Add warm wood, stay away from brightly coloured wooden furniture
- Pick pretty, intricate accessories; carved and cutwork is perfect
