Finally, a way to brighten up bathrooms! I hate staring at dull white tiles when I’m relaxing in the tub, so when I spied this gorgeous mosaic design, I could hardly contain my excitement.
I love the black and white flower design and subtle glimpses of colour in the top right hand corner. The perfect bathtub view!

Check out this cool bedroom wallpaper idea from Livingetc.com. It’s a great alternative to a bold feature wall and what a sunny sight to wake up to! In fact, the walls have been kept pretty neutral, with cow-print carpet tiles adding interest to the floor (poor Daisy though!).
The rest of the house is just as eclectic as this children’s bedroom. I’m sure they won’t mind if you take a little look around this New York brownstone house … just remember to wipe your feet!
No, it’s not a modern take on the whole ‘walking on hot coals’ fiasco, these are the new eco-friendly fireplace designs by EcoSmart Fire. I saw this room while I was rummaging around on FreshHome. I do like a ‘green living’ option every now and again, and this idea is certainly a striking focal point (and talking point!).
However, I think I’ll stick to my traditional chimney breast and fire grate for the moment. That said, it does make me wonder what would happen to poor Father Christmas if he was faced with one of these!
Do you remember me writing (mid puff and pant!) that I’d been busy sneaking behind the scenes at the judging of the Homes & Gardens fabric awards? Well today’s the day the winners are announced, so I’ve been putting together a video of footage of the judges pondering over their favourite fabrics, with great excitement!
They even stopped to tell me their personal favourite designs and some even gave me a couple of exclusive trend predictions!
Meet the judges with our new video!
* Editor of Homes & Garden, Deborah Barker, on why she feels emotionally attached to her favourite GP&J Baker fabric
* Founder of the Firmdale Hotel Group, Kit Kemp on which fabric gives her a taste of the Caribbean
* Suzanne Sharp, Founder of The Rug Company, on why colour is so important to her
* Deputy Editor, Giles Kime, on what would suit both a downstairs loo AND a children’s room!
You can take the home out of Brighton, but you can’t take Brighton out of the home! Everytime I visit my friends in Brighton I always get that twinge of jealousy when I see their fun-filled pier, hear the sound of seagulls, and smell the fresh sea air! So what’s a London loving girl to do? Bring Brighton to me, that’s what!
Check out this super cool wallpaper from Harlequin. It’s part of their Identity range of really quirky designs including pendant lights, strong stripes and geometric prints.
If they could just design patterns for Paris, New York and maybe the Maldives, I would never need to leave the house!
The thought of being able to wander into a HUGE dressing room and browse through rails of clothes fills me with joy. I mean, just look at the racks of shoes!!
Despite its obvious appeal, on closer inspection it’s a practical option, too. It has everything you could need – a comfy chair, dressing table, lots of natural light and even some strange horns … for hanging jewellery on??
Lugging a giant authentic lantern back from Stansted airport, past confused members of the public, I felt safe in the knowledge that I had the perfect starting point for the rustic Moroccan-style I had been dreaming of. I’d spotted it tucked between a banjo and a man selling ”Marks and Spencers” necklaces on the streets of Tangiers.
Now i’m faced with a bit of conundrum. Do I stick to the shimmering metallics and soft purples formal look? Or go for the spicey, earthy toned, cushion-strewn look? Both are equally Moroccan-inspired, equally modern and equally GORGEOUS!
What would you all go for? I’m swaying towards the shimmering embossed metals of this living room, myself.
I’m moving house soon, and my new abode has lovely white-painted floorboards (lust!) … with that in mind, i’m planning a cute dressing area to display all my accessories proudly (and probably mess them up as soon as i’m late for a party!)
I’ve found some great dressing area ideas in Country Homes & Interiors magazine, like this super-organised wardrobe. I love the chalkboard drawer labels for your smaller items (it has been confirmed that my gloves simply cannot stand the sight of their other half) and boutique-chic storage boxes.

I also enjoy the lengths the owner of this dressing table has gone to, to prevent their jewellery gathering dust (very Beauty and the Beast!)
When it comes to the old gogglebox (TV to you and me, but unfornately not to my mother), when does it start hindering the decorating process. So often you complete a fantastic country cottage-style living room scheme, and suddenly you’re faced with trying to ‘match’ a giant Samsung PLASMA in with your chintzy fabrics and rustic furniture.
I love these three television rooms from housetohome.co.uk. A real inspiration for the television fan, whether you want to make your model a statement feature, incorporate it in your scheme, or hide it away (with your collection of Julia Roberts romcoms :-S)

2) Blink and you’ll miss it …

I think i’m definitely an ‘option number 3′ girl, because i simply CANNOT and WILL NOT choose between gorgeous country style and an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
