Aah, something show-stopping for a Monday morning. I had the same reaction to these eye-popping decorating schemes as I did when I saw a girl wearing lime green PVC hot pants at the station last night – I certainly thought they were attention grabbing …. but certainly not for the faint-hearted. (Although I secretly hoped to myself that the Valentine that she was waiting for would be wearing the same!)
Less is more when it comes to accent colour, but it’ll give your scheme an eye-catching lift, whether you use it to highlight details, add pizazz to a neutral space or reinvent classic furniture pieces. Check out these ideas from Livingetc.
Punchy pink highlights this laser-cut headboard giving a traditional feature a modern twist.
An inky backdrop is given a lift with a glossy basin in a stand-out primary-shade.
Cobalt blue ribbon creates a statement border on this wall – and no steady paintbrush hand required!
Tonight Matthew, I’m (plain white traditional chairs) gonna be designer show stoppers in zingy contrasting shades.
Set intricate and geometric furniture against a block of bold colour for extra … umph!
Transform a dull window by painting a band of accent colour onto the blind.
