I would love to think that if someone walked into my house they would INSTANTLY know that I worked for an interior decorating website, but the truth is they probably think I work as either an emma bridgewater spokeswoman … or a wine critic (imagine!)
I then began to wonder who lives in all these houses I ’step inside’ during the day. And indeed, what sort of house would a handsome lawyer, investment banker or doctor live in – and when can I move in?
See if you can guess the profession of the owners of these gorgeous houses. In the mix we have a) a dairy farmer, b) a property developer c) an interior designer d) an air hostess and e) an architect. Find the answers below.
1) Boho-chic Victorian terrace

Finally, a way to brighten up bathrooms! I hate staring at dull white tiles when I’m relaxing in the tub, so when I spied this gorgeous mosaic design, I could hardly contain my excitement.
I love the black and white flower design and subtle glimpses of colour in the top right hand corner. The perfect bathtub view!

The thought of being able to wander into a HUGE dressing room and browse through rails of clothes fills me with joy. I mean, just look at the racks of shoes!!
Despite its obvious appeal, on closer inspection it’s a practical option, too. It has everything you could need – a comfy chair, dressing table, lots of natural light and even some strange horns … for hanging jewellery on??
Now all it needs is me!

There is nothing I love more than doing something creative with a plain white wall. Bold patterns, exciting textures and three dimensional fretwork can work wonders.
Check out this hallway from housetohome.co.uk – the perfect combination of detail!

This blog post on Apartment Therapy made me think about storage … I can’t imagine why though?

Gah! Someone needs to tidy their room!
Storage seems to be one of the eternal problems of modern life, the more lovely stuff we have, the smaller houses become, the less space we have.
I am a certified hoarder. At the moment it’s issues of Cosmopolitan, but that’s another story for another day… I think shelving can work wonders, whether it’s fitted or standalone, but i’ve also been on the hunt for a stylish bureaux.
Don’t think they have to be stuffy and just somewhere to hide bills – they’re great for displaying artifacts, storing beauty products, accessories – anything you want!
Check out this inspirational gallery of the best bureaux from housetohome.co.uk.

This might not be a popular view but, in decorating terms, conservatories can either be very right or very wrong.
One of the things that’s difficult to balance is the fact that conservatories are historical designs (the Victorians made conservatories popular for housing their plants) made from very modern materials – so it’s often tricky to get that ‘country-style’ feel.
The idea of having a mini glasshouse is lovely, fill it with plants, great, but then to over-clutter it with wicker furniture and chintzy fabric is not for me.
Check out this classic example – but you might need to rest your eyes afterwards!

Autumn provides a wealth of inspiration for home decorating, such as this cosy living room. Now, it’s not totally my taste at all but in this weather I do tend to hibernate more and more. I feel the need to re-arrange and re-decorate in warm, autumnal colours. I want something cosy and snug full of comfy soft furnishings. This room is perfect – you’ll find me in here until next spring (laptop pressed firmly to my chest!)

Now this is what I call heaven. A free-standing marble bath that’s big enough to swim in. Surrounded by mirrors and a roof lantern, it has spa suite written all over it!
My cramped corner bath has a lot of explaining to do.
