I’ve been busy quizzing the experts for their top trends for the new year (aren’t I nosey!) and they were happy to share their inside knowledge … they even let slip a couple of style tips!!

Well since inevitable Christmas holiday weight gain and summer beach holidays don’t tend to go hand in hand, i’ve been lusting after some snowy retreats. Five layers of clothing are sure to cover all manner of mincepie sins!

Check out theses luxurious snuggley hotels. Whether you’re going for the skiing; the gluhwein (or some sort of hot wine!); or just to marvel at a type of snow that doesn’t cause the national transport system to combust, these snowy escapes are sure to leave you longing for the Alpine life. (I know I am!)

. I love the brass pendants … but I don’t know why it also reminds me of The Shining?

Sure he wears the same outfit every year; his belt doesn’t do his belly any favours; and some might say his beard needs a trim … but that doesn’t mean he won’t appreciate a touch of stylish festive charm. He has just stuffed himself down a chimney for goodness sake.

I must say, I didn’t get too excited when I came across this ‘make it a white winter’ feature on housetohome this morning.

Mind you, that was probably because a ‘white winter’ for me had meant waiting for a rail replacement bus for over an hour at 8am while silenty urging my toes to stay attached!

However, when I finally got the feeling back I had a proper look. It’s so easy to opt for darker colours to create a warm and cosy space, but this snuggley living room space does just fine with neutrals of different tones and textures!

Phew! I’ve made the most of a long weekend to get all everything sorted for Christmas, and besides a slight Christmas party dress buying ‘relief’ (what? It’s uniform?) I managed to get through it unscathed.
