Garden hideaway

June 12, 2009

While checking out some of the designs featured at the Chelsea Flower Show, I fell in love with this beautiful summer garden room designed by Marston & Langinger. By wallpapering the inside with cute cherry wallpaper, it really feels like an extension of the house, as opposed to your traditional orangery. Now i’m going to spend my time daydreaming about my own secret getaway!

Boudoir chic wallpaper

June 12, 2009

Sometimes, using wallpaper on all four walls can look bold and garish – and that’s not always ideal in a relaxing bedroom. However, I really like how they’ve used it here. The peachy, metallic floral design really adds to the boudoir feel. Team it with silky bedding and a buttoned-back headboard for ultimate hollywood glamour.

Not any old fence

June 10, 2009

I was impressed with this garden space I found on myhomeideas, not just for the great planting scheme but the fence, too.  It’s great to see something other than the standard brown shades, this blue is perfect.

It’s all about the seaside look

June 10, 2009

Coastal style is a natural choice for the bathroom and I’ve seen plenty of schemes like this when browsing the web.  This one caught my eye though, I think its the smart nautical stripes and the writing on the wall that really do it for me.

Get the Narnia effect in your toilet!

June 9, 2009

I’ve never thought of the downstairs loo as the most exciting room in the home – until now! Check out this mural idea.  A scene on a wallpaper creates a great bold effect and definitely gives the loo the wow-factor!

Modern design or a pile of rubbish

June 9, 2009

I think a room scheme that gets visitors talking is always a good thing.  However, what do you think of this room divider?  The instillation is definitely a talking point, it doesn’t do it for me but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Is it a bar? Is it a hotel? No – it’s a kitchen diner!

June 8, 2009

With the mosaic tiles and retro bench this kitchen-diner has an uber-cool look and is perfect for cocktails.  Not sure what it would feel like as a place to munch your shreddies though!

Brighten up with bedlinen

June 5, 2009

I picked out this room because I think it proves it’s all about the bedlinen!  You can have the plainest bedroom, but put on some vibrant bedlinen and the room is transformed!

Daring damask

June 5, 2009

Talk about an eye-catching wallpaper.  This vibrant colour really stands out and I love how they’ve kept the rest of the scheme simple with plain white furniture, keeping any extra colour just for the cushions.

Fun and functional

June 3, 2009

Check out this idea from myhomeideas.  The owners have hidden an ugly fuse box with a sliding cork panel and a blackboard panel.  The panels are easily decorated, whilst still giving access to the fuse box.
