Bedroom decorating ideas to tweet about …

Just when I thought the decorating world had tired of the bird trend and moved on to other creature comforts (remember that horsey hallway idea?), I decided that I had not! I still love how our feathered friends can pull a scheme together with a feature wallpaper there, or some funky bird-print bedlinen there. It’s all about adding cute accents … not dressing your bedroom up like some sort of birdcage! Think pretty and welcoming, not Alfred Hitchcock.

Check out these beauties …

I love this country bedroom decorating idea – the cottage style bed and layers of lace are stunning. It would be a perfect guest room, allowing friends and family to become their own little night owls.

This bedroom design idea from Copy Cat Chic is a little over the tip for me – reminds me too much of my childhood bedroom … don’t ask! – what I do love is the contrast between the vintage wallpaper and the modern punchy blue table lamps and matching stools.

I’ve popped up this bedroom idea before, but I think this folky bedlinen from John Lewis is adorable, and a lovely light take on the bird trend.

I spotted (or should I say ‘twitched’?) this on Apartment Therapy. Now we’re swaying more towards Alfred Hitchcock style, but it certainly makes for an eye-catching feature in this bedroom.

I love the bedroom with turquoise accents, the bird-inspired wallpaper is lovely.

Continuing the theme, why not try this delicate bird print with a inspirational quote – only £30:

Hi Zoe, I LOVE THAT SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, it’s so cute. I’d love to have a greetings card with that on it, my friend would adore it.

The second bedroom with the entire wallpaper thing is a bit much! It’s too much on the eyes and as such I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to sleep in there. It’s not soothing. The first, third and fourth are absolutely beautiful!

The colors in the first bedroom are so divine. I can imagine sleeping there myself or laying in bed reading a good book.

I completely agree Keska, definitely wouldn’t welcome it after a night out! The first bedroom is sooooooooo beautiful to me, I love the white painted floorboards and rustic bed. The fourth one? Hmmmm, now that I look at it again, I’m wondering why there are birds on plates??

Oooh, birds are still very much in but crikey, some of those are way over the top. Personally, I don’t think I could have bird wallpaper or fabric in my bedroom at all but those are positively Hitchcock, no, I wouldn’t be able to sleep a wink!

The interior design world seems to have gone crazy over birds this season, and I absolutely love it. In the wallpaper world there are some papers that use birds as the key focus to the print, and others where the bird is more subtle and you really have to look to see the tweeter!

I like the bottom picture – the one with the bird plates “sitting” in the branches of a “tree”. It’s so unusual. I don’t think I could handle it in my own bedroom though!
