Winning combination

August 8, 2012

I’m hoping that you’re not too bored with the Olympics as I couldn’t resist showing you this patriotic living room. Pretty yet punk-inspired – a combination that shouldn’t work, yet it does. There are so many ways to display the Union Jack, from cushions and artwork to rugs and wallpaper, but this wallhanging does the job perfectly. Inspiring.

Teenage schemes

May 23, 2012

You may not always understand your teenager, but one thing that is crystal clear is their need to put their own stamp on their bedroom. From skateboards and guitars to make-up chests and pink fluffy phones, why not find a way of displaying items and decorating their retreat in a quirky, creative way?

Hang hooks on the walls to display items, frame collections, posters and concert tickets, and use wall stickers – on cupboard doors and floors as well as the walls. You could try using blackboard paint on a wall for doodles, or, if your child is a budding artist, why not give them a wall to spray paint or grafitti themselves?

Here’s a few ideas…

Hang skateboards or other items on the wall for an eye-catching display

A map of the world makes an interesting backdrop, and the Smeg fridge is a super-cool addition. Plus the Union Jack theme is right on trend for 2012

Boy’s bedroom wallpaper

February 11, 2010

That’s it, get them used the London bus service while they’re still young! Seriously though, I think this patriotic children’s bedroom wallpaper is really cute.

I’m glad they’ve only papered the chimney breast in this children’s room, it’s much easier to update as he gets older – unless he wants to be Prime Minister – in which case, he can also keep the Union Jack accessories and red toy car!
